1 Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you," "your," or "User") and Veyon Limited, a company incorporated in the Republic of Ireland (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), registered at Killoskehane Castle, Killoskehane, Borrisoleigh, Co. Tipperary, E41 Y519, Republic of Ireland.
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Veyon platform at veyon.ai or any associated application, API, or service (collectively, the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2 Eligibility
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old. Veyon processes biometric special-category data under GDPR Article 9. The elevated age threshold for biometric processing applies in all jurisdictions where we operate. Users between 16 and 17 may not register biometric data without a verified parental or guardian consent mechanism, which we do not currently provide.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- Not be prohibited from receiving services under applicable law.
- Not have had a previous Veyon account terminated for a material breach of these Terms.
If you are using the Service as a business or organisation, the individual accepting these Terms must be authorised to bind the entity. Organisation accounts are subject to additional terms that may be presented at sign-up or upgrade.
3 Description of services
Veyon provides an identity protection platform that includes the following capabilities, subject to your subscription tier:
3.1 Biometric identity registration
You may register your face and voice with Veyon. We extract mathematical representations (embeddings) from your biometric inputs — not the raw images or recordings themselves — and securely store them to enable monitoring and verification. A tamper-proof identity certificate is issued upon successful registration.
3.2 Face search and monitoring
We search a database of publicly indexed images and content across 25 platforms and 6 categories (including mainstream social media, adult content platforms, dating apps, dark social channels, and search engines) to detect unauthorised uses of your likeness. Searches are conducted using a third-party face similarity provider against an index of over 700 million faces. Results are confidence-scored; we do not guarantee detection of every instance of misuse.
3.3 Voice monitoring
We scan audio content — podcasts, YouTube videos, social audio streams, and similar sources — for matches against your registered voiceprint. Voice matching uses an embedding-based cosine similarity model, optionally combined with a third-party voice clone detection signal (Resemble AI). Matches above an 80% confidence threshold trigger an alert.
3.4 Video monitoring and deepfake detection
We scan video content across platforms for your likeness and analyse high-confidence matches for deepfake indicators using GPT-4 Vision analysis. Deepfake classification is probabilistic; results are not admissible as standalone evidence without supporting documentation.
3.5 Automated DMCA takedown submissions
For verified matches, we can submit Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notices and equivalent notices under applicable law to hosting platforms on your behalf. Takedown submissions are subject to the limitations described in Section 9.
3.6 KYC identity verification
Pro and Legal Shield tier users may optionally complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification through Veriff, a third-party identity verification provider. Successful verification enhances your identity certificate and evidence packages. Veriff's own terms and privacy policy apply to that process.
3.7 Legal evidence packages and DEIA certification
Legal Shield and Enterprise tier users may generate court-ready evidence packages, including DEIA (Digital Evidence Integrity Assurance) certified documentation. These packages are generated on a best-effort basis and are designed to support, but do not constitute, legal advice. See Section 9 for disclaimers.
3.8 API access
API keys may be issued to eligible users or organisations for programmatic access to certain threat intelligence and monitoring endpoints. API usage is subject to rate limits and tier entitlements. Misuse of API access is a material breach of these Terms.
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes that affect paid features.
4 Accounts and responsibilities
4.1 Account creation
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.
4.2 Account security
You must notify us immediately at support@veyon.ai if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We are not liable for losses resulting from your failure to secure your credentials.
4.3 One account per person
Individual accounts are for natural persons only. You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent access controls, rate limits, or subscription restrictions. Organisation accounts are the appropriate structure for team and agency use.
4.4 Accurate identity
When registering biometric data, you must register only your own face and voice. Registering biometric data of another person without their explicit consent is prohibited and may constitute a criminal offence under applicable law. We may terminate accounts and report suspected fraud or identity misuse to relevant authorities.
5 Biometric data
Veyon processes biometric data as special-category data under GDPR Article 9. This section supplements our Privacy Policy with terms that govern your rights and our obligations with respect to that processing.
5.1 Consent as legal basis
We process your biometric data only on the basis of your explicit, informed, and freely given consent. Consent is collected separately at the point of biometric registration and is clearly distinguished from consent to other processing activities. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5.2 What we process and why
| Data type | What we store | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Face embedding | Mathematical vector derived from a captured image frame. Raw image is not stored after extraction. | Face search, match comparison, certificate issuance |
| Voice embedding | Mathematical vector derived from your voice recording. Raw audio is not retained after extraction. | Voice monitoring, match comparison, clone detection |
| Identity certificate | DID (Decentralised Identifier), template hash, timestamps, KYC status (if verified) | Proof of identity, evidence packages, tamper detection |
5.3 Retention and deletion
Your biometric embeddings are retained for as long as your account is active or until you withdraw consent or delete your account. Upon account deletion or withdrawal of biometric consent, all biometric embeddings are permanently deleted within 30 days. Deletion requests may be submitted at any time via the account settings dashboard or by emailing support@veyon.ai.
5.4 Third-party processing
We use a third-party face similarity search provider to match your face embedding against indexed content. Your embedding is transmitted to this provider securely for comparison operations only; it is not retained by the provider beyond the query lifecycle. We perform voice analysis internally and, where enabled, transmit audio clips to Resemble AI for clone detection scoring. Full details of third-party processors are in our Privacy Policy.
5.5 Security
Biometric embeddings are stored encrypted at rest using AES-256. Access is restricted to authorised service processes. We conduct regular security reviews of systems that handle biometric data. In the event of a breach affecting biometric data, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within the timeframes required by GDPR.
5.6 Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, including biometric embeddings. You also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC). See our Privacy Policy for full details on exercising these rights.
6 Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Register biometric data of any person other than yourself
- Conduct searches for, monitor, or submit takedowns against a third party's likeness without that person's explicit written consent
- Harass, stalk, or target any individual, including through repeated or bad-faith takedown submissions
- Submit fraudulent, fabricated, or materially misleading DMCA notices — this constitutes perjury under United States law and may expose you to civil and criminal liability
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security or access-control feature of the Service
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or reconstruct biometric embeddings from the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or white-label access to the Service or its outputs without a separate written agreement
- Use the Service in a manner that violates applicable law, including laws governing biometric data, privacy, or electronic communications
- Use automated scripts, bots, or programmatic access in excess of API rate limits or in ways that degrade service performance for other users
Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate account suspension or termination and, where legally required, referral to law enforcement.
7 Intellectual property
7.1 Your content
You retain all ownership rights in the content you submit to the Service — including images captured for biometric registration, audio recordings, and documents. By submitting content, you grant Veyon a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process, store, and use that content solely to provide and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.
7.2 Veyon intellectual property
All other intellectual property in the Service — including the platform, algorithms, interface, branding, and documentation — is owned by Veyon Limited or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any Veyon IP to you. You may not copy, adapt, decompile, or create derivative works based on the Service without prior written permission.
7.3 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant Veyon a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback for any purpose without obligation to you.
8 Subscriptions and billing
8.1 Plans
Veyon offers the following subscription tiers:
| Plan | Included features | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Identity certificate, basic biometric registration | $0/month |
| Pro | Face & voice monitoring, alerts, voice watermarking, automated DMCA takedowns, Veriff KYC | $29/month |

| Enterprise | Organisation accounts, multi-identity monitoring, bulk evidence packages, custom integrations, SLA commitments | Custom — contact contact@veyon.ai |
8.2 Payments via Stripe
Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis. Stripe's own Privacy Policy and terms apply to payment processing. Veyon does not store your full payment card details.
8.3 Billing cycle and renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically on the monthly anniversary of your subscription start date unless cancelled beforehand. You will receive an email reminder before each renewal. Prices displayed are exclusive of any applicable taxes; VAT or other taxes may be added at checkout depending on your jurisdiction.
8.4 Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the account settings dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until that date. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial months, except where required by applicable consumer law. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact support@veyon.ai within 30 days of the charge.
8.5 Price changes
We may change subscription prices on 30 days' written notice to your registered email address. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
8.6 Downgrades and feature loss
If you downgrade your plan, features above your new tier will be deactivated. Monitoring scans, alerts, and evidence packages associated with deactivated features are preserved in your account for 90 days after downgrade in case you re-upgrade.
9 Takedown service limitations and disclaimers
9.1 No guarantee of removal
Veyon submits takedown notices to platforms and hosting providers on your behalf, but we cannot guarantee that any specific piece of content will be removed. Platform responsiveness, counter-notices filed by the content poster, jurisdictional limitations, and other factors outside our control affect outcomes. We will report submission status and platform responses to you but accept no liability for failed or unsuccessful removals.
9.2 Accuracy of notices
You bear responsibility for ensuring that takedown submissions you authorise are accurate and made in good faith. A DMCA takedown notice is a sworn statement. Submitting a notice for content you know you do not have rights to — or that does not actually infringe your rights — may expose you to civil and criminal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Veyon will not submit a notice you have flagged as potentially in bad faith.
9.3 Not legal advice
The Service, evidence packages, escalation guidance, Legal Shield features, and DEIA certifications are technology tools designed to assist in identity protection workflows. They do not constitute legal advice, create a solicitor-client relationship, or substitute for advice from a qualified legal professional. If you are involved in litigation or believe you need legal counsel, you should consult a solicitor or attorney.
9.4 Third-party platform policies
Takedown outcomes depend on the policies and responsiveness of third-party platforms. These policies change. Veyon adapts its submission adapters as platforms update their processes, but cannot guarantee compatibility with every platform at all times.
9.5 Match confidence
Face similarity and voice matching are probabilistic. Confidence scores do not guarantee that a match is a genuine instance of your likeness; manual review is always advisable before authorising a takedown. False positives may occur, and submitting a takedown based on a false positive is your responsibility.
10 Limitation of liability
10.1 Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veyon excludes all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results obtained through it will be accurate or complete.
10.2 Cap on liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Veyon's total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising under or related to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the fees you paid to Veyon in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (€100).
10.3 Exclusion of consequential damages
Veyon is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10.4 Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, or rights you have under Irish and EU consumer protection law. Where you are a consumer, statutory rights under Irish and EU law take precedence over any conflicting provision in these Terms.
11 Termination and account deletion
11.1 Termination by you
You may delete your account at any time through account settings. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Upon deletion, your personal data, including all biometric embeddings, is permanently erased. Anonymised aggregate statistics derived from your activity (with no personal identifiers) may be retained for service improvement purposes.
11.2 Termination by Veyon
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you:
- Materially breach these Terms
- Use the Service in a way that creates legal exposure for Veyon or harms other users
- Provide false identity or biometric information
- Fail to pay subscription fees after reasonable notice
- Engage in conduct that, in our reasonable judgement, constitutes harassment, fraud, or illegal activity
We will attempt to provide advance notice of non-urgent terminations. For serious violations, we may terminate immediately. We will refund any prepaid fees for months following termination at our discretion, except where termination is for cause.
11.3 Effect of termination
On termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Sections 1, 5.3 (deletion obligations), 6 (acceptable use), 7 (IP), 9 (disclaimers), 10 (liability), 12 (disputes), and 14 (contact) survive termination.
12 Dispute resolution
12.1 Governing law
These Terms and any disputes arising under them are governed exclusively by the laws of the Republic of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12.2 Jurisdiction
Both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Ireland for resolution of any dispute. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, you may also benefit from any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
12.3 Informal resolution
Before commencing any formal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us at support@veyon.ai. We commit to responding within 10 business days and to making a good-faith effort to resolve complaints informally.
12.4 EU Online Dispute Resolution
If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr to resolve disputes.
13 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "last updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect
- For changes that materially affect biometric data processing, seek fresh consent where required by GDPR
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a non-material update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a material change, you may close your account before the change takes effect.
